My Camera has 7 different picture styles. Standard, Vivid, Portrait, Landscape, Night, Sunset & B/W. These photos were all taken at, f/5.0, 1/100, ISO-100
f/11, 1/50, ISO 100. I used a circular Polarizer as well. I composed this shot from a bunch of different angles, including getting the whole building in the shot, but I liked this shot the best.
f/8, 1/30, WB set to sunny, ISO 400. I think the WB on sunny came closest to how the sunrise actually looked, but it's a little too orange.
Landscape mode, which autoset camera to f/5.1 and 1/50 sec. The ISO was accidentally set to 400 in all the photos. ISO is the only thing I can control in the camera setting modes. I thought all modes washed out the color of this sunrise. I don't think the focus was as good either.
1/30 at f/8, WB set to cloudy. This photo was taken last, so there's the most natural light. It's got the best color for the boats and buildings, but the sky is more muted. I wish I'd tried this setting earlier.
I was fixing my coffee this morning and looked out the window and saw some amazing colors and shapes in the clouds. I wanted to have my coffee and be warm, but I had to run down to the bridge and take a few shots. The tide was going out and there were some interesting shapes and patterns in the water and the clouds were making some really interesting shapes.
I tried a number of different compositions. These are the ones I liked best.
In between raindrops on Saturday I took some shots around Mud Bay and downtown Olympia. I drive through the area all the time and for some reason the pilings fascinate me. Trying to shoot the abandoned DOC building gave me a chance to play around with my newish wide angle lens.
Here's the photo after the crop you guys suggested. Thanks for the advice! I think it makes for a smoother photo overall, and also makes the slight wide angle distortion less apparent.
f/8, 1/80 sec., ISO 320, WB sunny, metered off a dark spot in the scene, taken around noon. Kane Hall at UW. I hesitated posting this because it's similar to my bridge photo from last class, but I liked how the guy breaks up the pattern in the portals.
Woodland Park Zoo shots from this week, close-up animal shapes
The first image was taken at Western WA Oncology I call it "Busying Myself & Bothering Others". Image 2 was taken during a walk through the Nisqually. Photo three was taken at 5am in the airport. The last 2 are RAW vs. JPEG, ISO 100, Shutter 1/80, Aperture 4.5, W/B Flash. I don't care for either photo...probably duo to operator error. RAW looks washed out with JPEG looks over processed.
The top shot is the JPG and the bottom is the RAW image. Shot with at 90mm 1/2500sec, f/5.6, ISO 100. This one was cropped and the bottom sailboat rigging's were cleared out.
This image was shot at 1/40 sec, f/11, ISO 200 and the camera's white balance was set at shade (which applies only to the jpg image). In Photoshop Elements 8.0 I used the RAW converter to set the RAW image white balance to shade. All other settings were left at default. Critiques welcomed.
