f/8, 1/30, WB set to sunny, ISO 400. I think the WB on sunny came closest to how the sunrise actually looked, but it's a little too orange.
Landscape mode, which autoset camera to f/5.1 and 1/50 sec. The ISO was accidentally set to 400 in all the photos. ISO is the only thing I can control in the camera setting modes. I thought all modes washed out the color of this sunrise. I don't think the focus was as good either.
1/30 at f/8, WB set to cloudy. This photo was taken last, so there's the most natural light. It's got the best color for the boats and buildings, but the sky is more muted. I wish I'd tried this setting earlier.
I like the photo on the bottom. The exposure on the boats is excellent. Have you tried the photoshop gradient excercise on that photo? I applied it to your photo and the sky really popped with color, while the boats on the marina kept their proper exposure.
ReplyDelete(Top Photo) You captured the color that I saw on my way to work that morning. My husband tried to get to a particular location for the shot and the mountain disappeared. It was a beautiful morning...great picture.
ReplyDeleteI like the orange photo. I think the shadow cast against the clouds from the sun below the horizon is one of the most exciting views of Mt. Rainier. It is a treat, because you have to live here to see and experience it. I dont think you'll find many like this on the internet.
