Week 2 assignment - Carlyon Beach Marina
I was fixing my coffee this morning and looked out the window and saw some amazing colors and shapes in the clouds. I wanted to have my coffee and be warm, but I had to run down to the bridge and take a few shots. The tide was going out and there were some interesting shapes and patterns in the water and the clouds were making some really interesting shapes.
I tried a number of different compositions. These are the ones I liked best.
Critiques are welcome.

I like the top shot the best as it shows all the triangles in the frame....the trees, their reflections in the water, the land, the "slices" of sky. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteI like how you got the sky shot and the water shot. I kind of prefer the water shot because it's so crisp in the foreground and leads you deeper in the photo. What is the white balance? These have a lot more colors in them than I got. Also, wonder if that blue stripe just over the trees is the Mt. Rainier shadow?
ReplyDeleteI shot with studio flash white balance (because I forgot to change it) and adjusted to taste (3550-3800 degrees, -31 on tint). Mt. Rainier is actually in view in two of the shots, behind the island just to the left of the walkway to the marina. It's partially obscured by the clouds.
