Greg - Emphasis and Dominance
I did some walking around downtown before and after the "working with models" workshop for the meetup group on Saturday. These shots were taken on the beach right next to Anthony's Hearth Fire Grill. I was initially drawn to the mountains and the shoreline, but I saw this lone piling and the lone shell sitting on it. I positioned myself so that the pilings under the radio station were in the background and even at f13 got a really blurry background due to the long focal length I used (200MM) which I thought made some interesting patterns and shapes. I like the horizontal shot better. I couldn't figure out how to re-shoot it to add emotion to inanimate objects.
These were shot on my 5MP Olympus e-1 with a Sigma 55-200 lens at ISO 100, f13, 1/100 and 1/80 shutter.
