Market Lines

I focused on the element of line for Sunday's outing because lines fascinate me. I took many, many photos and spent approximately 30 minutes photographing a red horseshoe chained to the inside of one of the shelves of a magazine display box over by the market office (I learned that WB settings are not absolute).I was planning on using one of those shots, but as we stood in the parking lot at the end of the afternoon (my camera battery on its last leg) discussing the story of the market, I spied this stack of chairs by the stage. The color caught my eye first, and then the lines. These shots were taken with the very last of my battery power, and I liked them best of all I surveyed on Sunday. I posted both color and BW for comparison. I waffle between which gives more emphasis to the lines - curving, straight; rough, smooth, thin, thick, horizontal, vertical and diagonal. I discovered more perspectives to apply to my own compositions in the future and also learned that sometimes the most favorite shot comes quickly and by chance. Perhaps by brain shifted somewhere between shotting the horseshoe and the chairs.

  1. I really like the simplicity and texture of both photos. I think I like the color one the best, the blue just draws me in.
