Greg - Space
My first instinct was to walk up to the railing so as to take an unobstructed view of the water and show the boats in the foreground, the water in the middle ground and the cranes and mountains in the background. However, before I did that, I took a shot from farther back and discovered that I liked having the boardwalk and the geometric shapes it created being a part of the composition.
Both shots taken with my 5MP Olympus e-1 and Sigma 18-125 lens. ISO 100, f6.3, shutter 1/800 for the shot with the boardwalk visible and ISO 100, f6.3, shutter 1/1000 for the other shot.
