This was a strongly backlit image, and without flash the tree was just a shadow. I was practicing with fill flash and the young gentleman who was accompanying me stepped into this particular photo. His presence made this my best photo...I'm not sure if it's that he fits perfectly under the branch or maybe it's the clothes he's wearing? Melissa- Fill Flash

Melissa, I really like this photo. A little bit of the full circle of life with the tree, youth and death. It's thoughtful but not dark.I think you got the flash dialed in perfect!
