Repetition

The top photo was a back door of the Fish and Wildlife building downtown Olympia.  It was shot at 1/30sec at f/10 at 10mm.  When I was shooting this I thought that this would look great in black and white with a little extra noise added in, but I'm glad I shot it in color.  I think the color adds more interest.  Ok, my original focus of this image was repetition.  I really liked the repeating right angles, all with a little bit of different texture.

The bottom photo was the bus stop in front of the the Farmer's Market.  It was shot at 1/400 sec at f/3.5 ISO 200 at 10mm.  I was waiting for our group to meet and took a few shots looking through this enclosure.  I really liked the perspective.

  1. Very creative Leo. I love the wide abgle through the bus stop with the traffic circle. Great use of wide angle, good symmetry, and I like the way it is framed by the windows of the bus stop. Great depth. And I love the little blue bench in the bottom right corner. So this was one of the first shots that you took? My first 50 shots were throw-aways.

  2. Thanks for the kind comments. This shot was about midway through the afternoon. As Barbara would say, I was just getting into it at this point.

  3. I like the back door photo. Just what is behind that door? And, do I really want to know? If I'm standing at the door can I see what lurks in the shadow to the right? Like the color, lighting adds to the mystery. Good show of texture, old brick against weathered door with a touch of litter that leads the way. Good eye!
