Field Trip - Lines - Tony

I was working on lines and figured shooting in b/w helped enhance just the attributes of the line. Thick, thin, wavy, curvy, and quite a few others. It was a bit tough to not fall into the rythm or pattern area even though that's where it seems a lot of lines end up.

  1. My favorite is the reflection of the tree in the window, I think because of the implied struggle between the organic lines of the tree with the very straight lines of the window pains. And I like the B&W treatment. The photo of the filbert tree (Harry Lauder's Walking Stick) seems busy and a little blown out. I've tried to photograph these before and they are much harder than they look. Cool shots.

  2. Interesting shots, all very different. The first shot didn't really grab me at first, but when I looked closer it led me to wonder where you shot that from. The perspective of the the next one is great, simple, but draws you in. The next one is my favorite, a brain trust made out of wood! Nice job.

  3. I liked the reflected tree in the window. The slightly off-horizontal angle of the shot and the contrast of organic and inorganic really appeals to me. I can see the texture on the wall on the right and even see the "shadow" of the tree limbs in the white window panes.
