I bought some tulips at the market to practice with. I tried some shots with direct on camera flash, and then made a diffuser for the on camera flash with some bubble wrap and a rubber band. I know that this is skipping ahead to next week, but I wanted to see for myself how different the images could be with off-camera flash (setup shown). Can you tell which is which?
It was also an opportunity to play with the idea of color contrast. After shooting in front of my walls, I tried a couple of shots using the green plastic wrap that came with the flowers as a backdrop and also did some shots cropping closer which made most of the colors complementary.
